Porridge Radio zeigen das Video zu ihrer neuen Single: „Lilac“ ist nach „Give/Take“ und „Don’t Ask Me Twice“ bereits die dritte Single, die das Quartett in diesem Jahr veröffentlicht.
Songs, die die Band aus der Brightoner DIY-Szene einem breiteren Publikum bekannter machten und ihr unter anderem ausverkaufte Headliner-Shows einbrachten. Nach ihrem ersten Album „Rice, Pasta And Other Fillers“ (2016) hat die Band nun bei Secretly Canadian unterschrieben. Das zweite Album von Porridge Radio soll nun im nächsten Jahr erscheinen.
Frontfrau Dana Margolin kommentiert den Track wie folgt: „I wanted to find some power in powerlessness. I was thinking about love and control and the things out of my control, and how fragile and incapable depression can make you feel. I was thinking about the way you can feel so close to someone that it’s like their body is your body, like there’s no separation between you, but you can’t stop things disintegrating. It’s a song about finding some hope and some future within that.“
