Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever präsentieren das Video zur neuen Single „Falling Thunder“
Bereits gestern haben Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever mit eine weitere Single aus ihrem kommenden Album veröffentlicht. „Falling Thunder“ heißt der neueste Vorgeschmack auf das mit Spannung erwartete zweite Werk „Sideways To New Italy“ des Quintetts aus Melbourne.
Nach den weithin gepriesenen ersten beiden Singles „Cars In Space“ und „She’s There“ findet „Falling Thunder“ die australische Band weiterhin auf dem Höhepunkt: ein wirbelnder, hypnotisierender Popsong, der perfekt die Zeitlosigkeit von „Sideways To New Italy“ heraufbeschwört – eine Platte, die universell und doch von persönlichen Geschichten durchzogen ist.
Der Song feierte auf „Fader“ Premiere, im Gespräch mit dem Magazin erklärt Tom Russo: „It’s about pushing on through the relentless march of time, against the constant cycle of seasons. And the way people change and relationships change. It’s set in that time when autumn is turning into winter and the trees are getting bare.“
Die Veröffentlichung von „Falling Thunder“ wird begleitet von einem Video, das Jamieson Moore gedreht hat und das Urlaubsfilmmaterial aus Sizilien, Sardinien und den Äolischen Inseln, der angestammten Heimat der Brüder Russo, enthält. Wie Tom weiter ausführt: „Our friend Jamieson Moore shot the footage of Sicily, Sardinia and the Aeolian Islands on her phone while on vacation last year. The Aeolian Islands is also where my and Joe Russo’s ancestors are from. We were also planning to shoot the band playing in Eolian Hall in Melbourne (it’s a community hall founded by Aeolian immigrants). We got some practice footage but by the time it came to shoot the band, we were on lockdown. So it’s turned out as a kind of a love letter to a particular place.“
