The Homesick präsentieren mit „I Celebrate My Fantasy“ den ersten Track aus ihrem Album „The Big Exercise“
Als ersten Vorgeschmack auf ihr neues Album präsentiert die niederländische Band The Homesick das Video zur Single „I Celebrate My Fantasy“. „The Big Exercise“ – so der Titel des Albums – wird Anfang Februar via Sub Pop erscheinen.
Nach der EP „Twst Yr Wrsts“ aus dem Jahr 2014, dem Debütalbum „Youth Hunt“ (2017) und der Doppelsingle „Gucci Gucci“ (2018) ist „The Big Exercise“ der vierte Release von Jaap van der Velde, Erik Woudwijk und Elias Elgersma. Produziert wurde es von der Band selbst in Schenk Studio in Amsterdam, gemischt wurde es von Casper van der Lans, das Mastering übernahm Mikey Young (Total Control, Eddy Current Suppression Ring).
„I consider The Homesick a pop band first and foremost“, erzählt Van der Velde über seine Band. „If you’d introduce a late-era Scott Walker-record to a layman, it would likely fall on flat ears. But put it in the right scene of a good movie, and that person may finally understand its potential. The Homesick is allowed to play around in that pop framework, and the goal is to explore what’s possible within it.“
