The Phoenix Foundations: Video zum Song „The Captain“
The Phoenix Foundation, Anführer der Mini-Kiwi-Psych-Rock Invasion um Künstler wie Connan Mockasin, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Oposum und Lawrence Arabia, sind bereit für ihre Rückkehr. Nach der Ankündigung ihres neuen Albums, freuen wir uns euch ihr neues Video zu „The Captain“ zeigen zu können.
„The Captain“ ist die erste Single aus „Fandango“, dem neuen Doppel-Album, auf dem die Band unterschiedlichste musikalische Stimmungen erkundet, die sich vom dunklen Eröffnungsstück „Black Mould“ über smoothen Rock in „Sideways Glance“ bis hin zu verkatertem Psych-Folk in „Modern Rock“ ziehen.
Einer der beiden Frontmänner, Samuel Flynn, sagt dazu: „Damn the zeitgeist, I still rejoice in the pan-sexual opulence of a double gate-fold vinyl album. Honestly I’m thoroughly satisfied that we have made 80 minutes of tripped out pop oddities that pays absolutely no attention to the short form game of contemporary music. This is Test Match music, maybe it’s prog or pysche-folk, whatever it is it’s music that we thought about a lot, worked on a lot and care about in the minutia…“
