Eels veröffentlichen neues Album und kommen zum Maifeld Derby
Mark Oliver Everett und seine Band Eels veröffentlichen im April ihr neues Album „The Deconstruction“. Im Juni wird die Band zudem auch in Deutschland zu sehen sein, unter anderem am Sonntag, 17. Juni, beim Mannheimer Maifeld Derby.
Vier Jahre nach dem Release von „The Cautionary Tales Of Mark Oliver Everett“ ist „The Deconstruction“ bereits das zwölfte Studioalbum der Band rund um Mastermind Mark Oliver Everett alias „E“, der hierzu folgendes meint: „Here are 15 new Eels tracks that may or may not inspire, rock, or not rock you. The world is going nuts. But if you look for it, there is still great beauty to be found. Sometimes you don’t even have to look for it. Other times you have to try to make it yourself. And then there are times you have to tear something apart to find something beautiful inside.“
Aufgenommen wurden die fünfzehn neuen Songs in The Compound in Los Feliz sowie in den The Pie Studios in Pasadena, Kalifornien.Neben dem The Deconstruction Orchester & Chor lud Everett auch musikalische Weggefährten wie Koool G Murder, P-Boo sowie Produzent Mickey Petralia , der zuletzt an „Electro-Shock Blues“ (1998) beteiligt war, zu den Albumaufnahmen ein. Der Titeltrack, der ab sofort im Netz zu finden ist, gibt schon einmal einen guten Eindruck davon, was Fans erwartet.
